Dr. Jo Treat-Haug joined the nursing faculty at St. Catherine in 2019 and currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the College for Women Baccalaureate Nursing Program. She teaches in courses at all levels in the program. In 2024, her dedication to teaching was recognized when she was honored with the DAISY Faculty Award.
Jo earned her Bachelor of Arts in Nursing from St. Olaf College in 2015, her Master of Science in Nursing Education from Western Governors University in 2019, and her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from St. Catherine University in 2026. She holds certifications as both a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) and a Public Health Nurse (PHN).Â
Jo’s professional clinical experience has focused on adult acute care in the medical-surgical setting, bringing valuable bedside expertise from the oncology and orthopedics specialties into the classroom. Nursing and scholarly interests include: innovative teaching strategies, active learning approaches, interventions that improve student learning and NCLEX pass rates, and gaining a deeper understanding of how to better equip new graduate nurses with the resiliency skills to thrive in today's complex and turbulent healthcare settings.
