St. Catherine University’s annual will be held May 1–5. The weeklong showcase will celebrate the accomplishments of the campus community with presentations, panels, and award ceremonies.

The week kicks off on Monday with a ribbon-cutting and open house for the new Office of ۿ۴ýly Engagement office space and a Faculty ۿ۴ýship Celebration. It continues on Tuesday with the Honors and Awards Ceremony, which will present the top awards for student achievement in academics and leadership.

One of the major pillars of the showcase is the student research shared through poster sessions and presentations; students interested in pursuing research in the future are especially invited to come and learn from current student projects. Undergraduates from all disciplines will share their academic and creative research on May 4 at the Sister Seraphim Gibbons Undergraduate Research Symposium. The Symposium honors the spirit and impact of Sister Seraphim Gibbons, CSJ, ’33, who spent 52 years educating women to lead and influence as a professor in the St. Kate’s math department. There will also be an opportunity for students to have professional headshots taken during this time.

Another symposium, the Community Work and Learning (CWL) Symposium, held over three days from May 2–4, offers students involved with CWL’s three student employment programs — America Reads, Assistantship Mentoring Program, and Community Leaders — a chance to share their work and impact with the wider community. The Graduate School Research Symposium on May 2 will feature the research of graduate students.

Other highlights of the showcase include the Denny Writing Prize Panel, Research and Creative Inquiry Intensive ۿ۴ý Capstone Presentations, and on Friday afternoon.

“The Showcase of Academic Excellence is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the entire St. Kate’s community,” said vice president and provost Anita Thomas, PhD. “We encourage everyone to come and learn about the incredible work our students, faculty, and staff are doing, both on and off campus."
